Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How do I submit my music to the station to get it played? How many songs can I get in rotation?

A: We accept unsolicited music submissions and if your music is not horrible (just kidding, we won't judge) then we will put a single song in rotation and import the entire disc to our library. If you desire to submit music please either email mp3's (160+ Kbit please) to ccrloyno@gmail.com or mail a CD to our address below. You can also drop off a disc to the station by leaving it in front of door CM428J and we will import it the next business day. It helps if you give us information about what song you want in rotation and any other information we might consider useful. You can mail a CD to:

Q: Can I buy advertising or underwriting on CCR?

A: Yes! Please email us at
ccrloyno@gmail.com so we can work out the details and tell you about some pre-made packages we have.

Q: Do I need to be affiliated with Loyola or a student to have a show?

A: No! Anyone is welcome to bring their unique interests and talents to the station and we want to engage with anyone who wants to participate.

Q: Does CCR allow live in-studio performances?

A: CCR loves having artists perform in studio, or just drop by for an interview. We have an open door policy and feel free to come by anytime. We can accommodate small groups like 3 piece bands quite easily in our live performance room adjacent to the studio. If your group is larger and requires more space we can set you up in the recording studio down the hall and feed the audio to the radio station. So please inquire and we would love to have you!

Q: What is the difference between the on-campus stream and off-campus stream?

A: The on-campus stream features audio quality that is much better.

Q: Why does the stream re-buffer constantly if I am listening on campus?

A: To try to keep our network administrators happy we purposely limit the speed of connections from our off-campus streaming server to on-campus listeners. To work around this we provide an on-campus stream. Please do not use the off-campus stream if you are on-campus.

Q: Does CCR have any rules regarding acceptable types of shows or music that can be played?

A: Shows can be of any type and the music selections played are chosen at the discretion of the host of the show. However, our station does follow FCC rules regarding profanity and obscenity so shows featuring music or speech that could be considered profane must be broadcast between 10PM and 6AM. CCR does not allow obscene material to be broadcast at any time. For more information please refer to the FCC website for background and discussion of what qualifies as profane and/or obscene.
